I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season! I committed to myself and my family that I would take some time off of my second job here during the holidays, and now it's time to get back on the bandwagon! I have so many ideas for the coming months as we enter into the second quarter of the year.
But up first... I am participating is Mrs. Stanford's Product Swap and hosting my first GIVEAWAY!
I swapped with Kim Zilliak over at Literacy Sundae {with Common Core on Top}. If you haven't already, you HAVE to check out her classroom tour. So cute and such great ideas for an intermediate classroom.

The title of her blog kills me every time-- it's one of my favorite blog titles of all time, but it also makes me eyes wander to my freezer, and it always ends in an ice cream party for one. Great Blog + Ice Cream + Common Core Tips & Tricks = Bliss.
I was excited to swap with her because she has a really neat Suffix Mini-Unit that will be perfect for Word Work during Daily Five. It's always a struggle to find quality resources for intermediate word work, so I was thrilled that I was the recipient of this unit!
The unit focuses on the suffixes -ible & -able, and it will combine perfectly with our study of roots. All I had to do was laminate and cut the cards out (Side Note: I was a little giddy because this was the first time I was using my new "personal" laminator at home. School has one that I can use, but sometimes there are things I need to do last minute, so I finally broke down and got one. This could be trouble!) and they were ready to go.
So simple, and the center is ready! The students match the word cards with the definition cards then take a quick assessment at the end. Love it, and it's so appropriate for intermediate students! Kim is having a sale at her store this weekend, as well!

| I mounted all of the title cards on coordinating construction paper and laminated. I put the match cards in a Zip Loc baggie. The image on the bottom right is the quiz with an Answer Key. |

In conjunction with the swap, I'm also going to host my very first giveaway using Rafflecopter! Hop over to Kim's blog to see what I swapped with her, and I will be giving away a set of those items, AND to another person, any item from my store! There are a lot of fun options for earning entries on Rafflecopter, so the deadline to enter will be tomorrow at 9pm ET. I'm so excited about this giveaway, and I will be doing more for any items I blog about in the future. (Remember: Some options for entries you can do both today and tomorrow for multiple entries.) Yay!

Thanks again to Kim for her fun goodies and thanks to Jessica for hosting the Swap! I can't wait to participate in the next one.
